An intimate same sex wedding at Ox Pasture Hall | Yorkshire
Ox Pasture Hall | Yorkshire Wedding Photography
Emily & Kerry, Ox Pasture Hall
Emily and Kerry are one of the most amazing couple’s I have had the pleasure of being able to photograph. They decided to celebrate their big day at the beautiful and picturesque Ox Pasture Hall in Yorkshire. I have known Kerry for a long time I was honoured to be chosen as their wedding photographer.
I arrived in the morning at Ox Pasture Hall and got a few shots of this incredible venue prior to everyone arriving before going to meet the girls. Emily and Kerry were getting ready in nearby rooms which was great for me so I could go back and forth to capture the getting ready moments.
As usual I started by taking photographs of the important details such as the dress, shoes and bouquet. The girls had made loads of things themselves for their day and I was keen to be able to capture these details for them to remember in the future.
I was amazed at how calm both girls were on the morning and this really shows in the images, with the wine flowing there were lots of laughs and it made for great fun photographing.
Once both brides were ready it was time for a few portraits with family and my favourite window shots. The weather was a bit touch and go what with it being quite windy, fortunately the venue planner gave the go ahead that the ceremony could still take place outside which was a huge relief for both girls!
This was the first chance for me to shoot an outdoor wedding, it makes for such amazing photos due to all the natural light and I was able to capture photos from so many angles which really helped capture so much more of the ceremony.
First up the stunning bridesmaids arrived before the brides were walked down separate paths by their super proud Fathers and met together in the middle, truly a stunning way for an entrance.
After a beautiful and intimate ceremony, it was onto the cocktail hour with a confetti archway, lots of candid shots of guests congratulating the newly married couple and a big group shot in the front gardens of Ox Pasture.
After a few group shots in the fields behind the venue, I took the girls away for a walk to capture some lovely genuine moments of them together before heading into the reception.
The reception was a fun filled afternoon and evening of entertaining and emotional speeches, some amazing food, an outdoor bouncy castle which I think the adults enjoyed more than the kids and some great dancing on the dance floor. My camera was firing non-stop all day due to how much was going on! Once again Emily and Kerry had made loads of things for their reception and it truly made this a very unique and personal wedding.
In the evening, the party was in full swing. Just before I left, I asked the couple if I could take a quick night photo before l left to let the party the night away.
I’m so grateful that Emily and Kerry entrusted their wedding photography to me and took such time to write a glowing review on my Facebook page for me.
"On behalf of Kerry Doolin and myself I want to thank Alex Buckland, you captured our day more than we could ever have imagined, you were beyond perfect.
