Hampshire Wedding Photography

I love shooting Hampshire wedding photography because in Hampshire there really is something for everybody.  After all, it’s not all counties that have so much to offer couples who are planning their weddings.  Everything from beautiful coastal locations, to the charming architectural delights of Winchester, to the rich maritime history of its city ports at Southampton and Portsmouth, to the stunning countryside and woodland areas.  All of which have lots of beautiful and unique wedding venues.

Inland you will find the pretty and vibrant cathedral town of Winchester.  Its beautiful architecture offers up some really photogenic wedding venues like the cathedral itself, the Guildhall and the Great Hall.  In addition to this it has a great choice of luxurious hotels experienced in delivering beautiful weddings.    When I shoot wedding photography in Winchester, I love photographing my couples in front of Winchester’s iconic landmarks.

The New Forest is England’s largest intact area of ancient woodland.  It’s a really beautiful setting for a romantic wedding and the area has some of the county’s prettiest villages and towns like Brockenhurst, Beaulieu, Lymington, Lyndhurst and Sway.

Wedding venues in the New Forest offer something to suit all styles, sizes and budgets.  You can have a large wedding at one of the many luxurious country house hotels that offer wedding ceremonies both indoors and out.  Or you can enjoy a barn wedding venue, a marquee wedding or for the quirkier amongst you, you can get married in a tree house!

For outdoorsy boho weddings done your way take a look at ‘Weddings in the Wood’ or ‘Minstead Lodge’ which boasts itself as a luxurious woodland retreat.

Creative and natural wedding photography in Hampshire

Hampshire’s two city ports of Southampton and Portsmouth have a rich maritime history and a wealth of lovely wedding venues that have unrivalled coastal and sea views. If that doesn’t get you close enough to the sea you can choose to get married on a boat. When I shoot Southampton and Portsmouth wedding photography, I love getting romantic seascape sunset images of my couples.

Talking of nautical themes.  Hampshire has some unique lighthouse and fort wedding venues that allow you enjoy fantastic sea views and beautiful starlit night skies.  Their remote locations, sometimes only accessed by boat, give weddings a really exclusive feel.

If you are looking for something really unique why not get married at a museum.  The Explosion Museum of Naval Firepower, The Royal Navy Submarine Museum both offer characterful wedding locations or you can choose to have your wedding onboard the famous HMS Warrior.

Hampshire also has its share of picture post card villages such as Buriton, Chawton, Droxford and Hamble-le-Rice.  These offer gorgeous accommodation for your wedding guests who might want to stay and explore the area (let’s face it, who wouldn’t!)

If you want to make the most of the Hampshire countryside then a barn wedding could be for you.  The county has countless luxurious barn wedding venues.  The Clockbarn at Whitchurch, The Riverdale Barn at Yateley and The Tithe Barn at Petersfield are just three.  When I shoot Barn wedding photography in Hampshire, I always love how the indoor and outdoor spaces blend seamlessly, giving so many great opportunities for natural images of my couples and their guests enjoying themselves.

Or if you’re looking for a vintage theme wedding there’s the charming disused railway station at Horsebridge.  I always love shooting wedding photography at Horsebridge Station.

If you’re looking for a fairy tale castle wedding then take a look at Southsea Castle, Hurst Castle and The Great Hall in Winchester who all offer wedding spaces with iconic backdrops and a rich history that make shooting Castle wedding photography in Hampshire a real joy.

So, if you’re looking to get married in a county that offers all this then take a look Hampshire.  And remember to have fun with your wedding planning.  Once you’ve found that perfect Hampshire wedding venue, you’ll be looking for a Hampshire wedding photographer.
