Planning a wedding in Kent? You’re in the right place. My style is relaxed, natural, and focused on storytelling. I capture real moments, honest emotion, and the small details that help you remember your day as it felt.

Kent gives you an incredible mix of venues and landscapes. I often work around Canterbury, Ashford, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Dover, and the surrounding countryside. You get everything from coastal views and orchards to woodland paths and historic estates, which makes Kent perfect for natural and storytelling wedding photography.

Venues like Old Kent Barn, Leeds Castle, Hever Castle, Winters Barns, The Oak Barn at Frame Farm, Chapel House Estate, Port Lympne, and Marleybrook House offer a huge variety of settings for your photos. Whatever your plans, Kent gives you beautiful backdrops in every season.

My approach to capturing Kent weddings

Every Kent wedding has its own character. My approach stays steady. Relaxed. Unobtrusive. Focused on real moments and clear storytelling. Here is how I photograph the key parts of a Kent wedding day.

Kent wedding morning preparations

The Morning Buzz

I arrive early and start with the small details and the people closest to you. The build up sets the tone. In Kent this might be a country house suite, a cosy cottage, a hotel near the venue, or your family home. These moments give you real laughter, nerves, and quiet touches that become an important part of your gallery.

Kent wedding ceremony

The Big “I Do”

Kent offers a huge range of ceremony settings. Barns, castles, country estates, chapels, gardens, and coastal venues. During the vows I work quietly so you stay present. I photograph the tears, smiles, and reactions between you, your guests, and your families. Nothing staged. Nothing overdone.

Kent wedding confetti

Candid Moments of Happiness!

After the ceremony, the story opens up. Confetti, hugs, drinks, and all the little moments between your guests. I keep moving and watch for natural interactions that show how the day really felt. You stay with your people while I document everything around you.

Kent wedding portraits

Creative Portraits

Kent gives you a lot of variety for portraits. Orchard rows, open fields, castle grounds, woodland paths, and formal gardens. I guide you lightly so you never feel stiff. You get a mix of relaxed portraits that feel genuine and flattering. This part of the day often gives you a quiet break together.

Kent wedding party dancing

Dancing the Night Away

As the evening builds, I stay close to the action. First dance, reactions from your guests, and the big party that follows. I use light that keeps the atmosphere true to how it felt, whether that is a packed barn dance floor or a marquee in the Kent countryside.

Kent wedding second photographer

Second Photographer Option

If you would like wider coverage, I can bring a second photographer from my trusted team. This helps cover both prep locations, guest arrivals, and a second angle during the ceremony and speeches. It also adds more candid guest moments while I stay focused on you. It is a simple way to make your story feel complete.

Wedding photography reviews from couples

Kent wedding venues I love working at

I have photographed weddings across Kent for years, and the county has some of the most varied and beautiful venues in the South. From rustic barns to historic castles and coastal estates, here are some favourites I have captured and venues couples often search for when planning their day.

  • Old Kent Barn – One of the most popular wedding venues in Kent. Bright interiors, landscaped gardens, and a peaceful rural setting. It suits relaxed ceremonies, natural portraits, and creative evening shots. Couples love the clean look and the flow of the day here.
  • Leeds Castle – Grand stone walls, lakes, courtyards, and formal gardens give you a wide range of backdrops. It works well for both intimate and large celebrations. You get dramatic portraits and plenty of space for natural candid moments.
  • Hever Castle – A historic castle with moat views, stone archways, and manicured gardens. It suits classic portraits, documentary moments, and evening celebrations. A great choice for couples who want a touch of history.
  • Winters Barns, Canterbury – A well known barn venue with warm timber interiors and sheltered gardens. It offers a cosy ceremony space, a courtyard for drinks, and fields nearby for golden hour portraits. It runs smoothly in every season.
  • The Oak Barn at Frame Farm, Benenden – A restored farm venue with rustic barns, clean lines, and open countryside. It has a modern finish while keeping its character. Ideal for relaxed couples who want a mix of countryside and contemporary style.
  • Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve – A unique Kent venue with sweeping views, grand architecture, and safari-style surroundings. The terraces and gardens give you a range of settings throughout the day.
  • Chapel House Estate, Minster – A newer venue that has become popular quickly. You get modern interiors, private grounds, and quiet coastal views. The estate layout gives you strong portrait spots close together, which keeps the day flowing.
  • Marleybrook House, Canterbury – Playful, bright, and full of character. This vintage-style country venue gives you colourful backdrops, fun fairground elements, and relaxed garden areas.
  • Cooling Castle Barn – One of Kent’s most booked barn venues. Distinctive towers, warm interiors, and sheltered courtyards. It is well known for its smooth timeline and easy guest flow.
  • Nettlestead Place – A historic manor with stone arches, terraced gardens, and river views. You get a classic English garden feel with strong options for portraits.

The Old Kent Barn, Leeds Castle, Hever Castle, and Winters Barns each have their own atmosphere, and no matter which one you choose, I will photograph your day with a natural, storytelling approach that keeps the focus on you and the people you care about.

Below are a few examples of real weddings I have had the pleasure of capturing within Surrey.

Good to know

Wondering about the details?

What if it rains?

Kent weather changes fast, but it never stops the day from running smoothly. Venues like Old Kent Barn, Leeds Castle, Winters Barns, and Hever Castle all have bright indoor spaces that work well for photos. If the rain lifts, we can step outside for a few relaxed portraits. If it stays, I keep everything flexible and still capture a full set of natural moments.

What time will you arrive on the wedding day?

I arrive a couple of hours before the ceremony. This gives me time to photograph morning preparations, family moments, and the small details that build the story of the day.

Can you help us plan the timeline for photos?

Yes. After many years photographing Kent weddings, I know how to build a simple, realistic plan. Kent venues often have gardens, courtyards, orchards, and shaded paths, which help with portrait timings. I guide you so the day stays relaxed and you spend more time with your guests.

Do you offer coverage of the evening party?

Yes. I stay into the evening to photograph the first dance, the atmosphere, and the fun that follows. These images show the full story and bring your gallery to life.

We feel a bit awkward in front of the camera. Can you help?

Yes. Most couples feel the same at first. My approach is calm and simple. I guide you lightly, keep things comfortable, and let natural moments happen. You get photos that feel real and true to you.

Do you cover the whole of Kent?

Yes. I photograph weddings across the county, including popular venues such as Old Kent Barn, Leeds Castle, Winters Barns, Cooling Castle Barn, Hever Castle, Marleybrook House, Nettlestead Place, Chapel House Estate, and The Oak Barn at Frame Farm. I also cover nearby border venues in Surrey and East Sussex.

Can you photograph both sets of morning preparations?

If you are both getting ready at the same venue or nearby, I can cover both. If you want coverage in two separate locations, a second photographer from my trusted team is the best option.

How do we book you?

You can contact me through my form and I will confirm my availability. We can then arrange a short chat about your plans. Many couples book a year or two ahead, so it is worth reaching out early.
