A Summer Wedding at the Old Kent Barn

So, let me tell you about this incredible wedding I had the opportunity to capture recently. It was one of those events that just had everything from start to finish. Annise and MIke celebrated their wedding day at the fantastic Old Kent Barn down near Dover. After meeting them both for their pre wedding shoot at Bedgebury Forest a few months earlier, I was really looking forward to capturing their wedding day.

Photographs of Annise and Mike’s wedding day

The morning prep was so much fun. The excitement in the air was palpable as Annise got ready with her Bridesmaids whilst my 2nd Photographer was off capturing Mike and his groomsman nearby. The anticipation was building up for the outdoor ceremony, and I could just tell that it was going to be something truly special.

And you know what? It didn’t disappoint. The ceremony was absolutely stunning. The vows were heartfelt and emotional, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd. I love being able to capture those raw, genuine emotions. It really is what wedding photography is all about. From Freddie the ringbearer stealing the show, plus Annise and Mike dancing throught the confetti aisle, it was truly full of moments to capture!

After the ceremony, it was time for the cocktail hour. The guests enjoyed drinks and played lawn games, including croquet and the limbo which all created such a relaxed and joyful atmosphere. It was the perfect backdrop for some great candid shots of people having a blast.

One of my favorite parts of the day was when we did the group photos. This group was so much fun! They had so much energy and were up for anything. We laughed and goofed around, creating some really memorable shots including both Annise and Mike being thrown up in the air!

But let me tell you, the couple’s session was just breathtaking. The grounds in Old Kent Barn are truly sensational, with so many spots for intimate portraits. Plus we were treated to a gorgeous golden hour sunset which looked incredible in the photos. The love between Annise and Mike was palpable, and it was an honor to be able to capture that on camera.

Speeches were next on the agenda, and they were a perfect mix of heartfelt words and some hilarious moments. I was laughing one minute and tearing up the next. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do so much!

And then, it was on to the the first dance which was absolutely epic. The couple had choreographed this amazing routine, and the whole crowd was on their feet cheering them on.From Mike lifting Annise up and a final dip It was such a joy to capture that energy and passion!

As the evening turned into night, the party really kicked off. The dance floor was never empty. The love and happiness in the room were infectious. It’s nights like these that make me appreciate how lucky I am to do what I do.

And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, we snuck away for a twilight photo shoot with the couple. The soft, romantic fairy lighting amongst the grounds created the perfect atmosphere for some truly stunning shots. It was the perfect way to end such an amazing day.

Overall, this wedding was everything a Kent wedding photographer could hope for. It had emotional moments, fun and laughter, and a whole lot of love. I’m just so grateful to have been a part of it and to be able to tell their story through my photos.
