About Me
I’m Alex and I’m a South East wedding photographer based in Eastbourne and I cover weddings throughout East Sussex, West Sussex, Kent, Surrey and Hampshire. I will also cover the rest of the UK and even destination weddings around the world!
I share my wonderful home with my wife Catherine, my 2 cheeky monster kids Aiden and Caitlin and our equally as cheeky cat Simba. We got married on 1st April 2011 (I know April Fools Day) and it truly was one of the best days of my life!
Before photography, I was a medic in the British Army for just over 23 years. That time gave me some incredible experiences, took me all over the world, and introduced me to some amazing people. It also shaped how I am day to day, calm under pressure, observant, and comfortable in all sorts of situations.Through my military connection, I have been become a trusted Military wedding photographer capturing military weddings throughout the UK
My love of people is what led me into photography. I’ve been a wedding photographer for over twelve years now, and at its core, the part I enjoy most is being around people on a day that really matters to them. Meeting new faces, seeing relationships up close, and documenting moments that would happen whether I was there or not.
Running is a big part of my life. I love a good parkrun, 10k races, and half marathons, and I’m currently training for my first full marathon in April 2026. My wife runs too, so it’s something we share. Early mornings, training plans, race days, and plenty of chat about routes, pacing, and shoes. It’s something we genuinely enjoy doing together.
I like the routine of running. Turning up consistently. Putting the work in. Seeing small improvements over time. It clears my head and keeps me grounded. I also keep fit by rollerblading. It’s something I’ve always enjoyed and it’s a nice change of pace, especially along the Eastbourne seafront.
I’ve also always loved motorbikes. Touring in Spain has been a real highlight, long days riding, quiet roads, and taking things at a steady pace. I’m also into e-bikes and enjoy getting out on them whenever I can. Anything on two wheels tends to do the trick for me.
I’m a bit of a gadget fan and enjoy anything technical. I like learning how things work, setting them up properly, and tweaking them until they feel right. If there’s new tech involved, I’m usually interested.
More recently, I’ve started learning to play the piano again. I played as a child, stopped for years, and decided to pick it back up. Progress is slow, but that’s part of the enjoyment. I’m also into gaming, especially VR, which is a great way to switch off and do something completely different for a while.
Coffee is essential. I need a caffeine fix every day and appreciate a good one. I don’t really drink much anymore as fitness has become more important, so I usually go for non-alcoholic beers, although I’ll still enjoy the occasional gin and tonic.
Oh and my favourite colour is orange. No deep reason, I’ve just always liked it!
