Wiltshire Wedding Photography
Hey there! As a Wiltshire boy who has returned to live in Wiltshire, I can’t recommend my home county enough. There’s something magical about Wiltshire that makes it the perfect location for a wedding. The fact that nearly half of this enchanting county has been designated an area of outstanding beauty and that it is home to Stonehenge, a world heritage site, tells you something of its beauty and historical importance and stands as evidence that rituals have been important to the people of Wiltshire for hundreds of years. So, where better to have your wedding.
As a busy Wiltshire wedding photographer, I am lucky enough to have become experienced at shooting wedding photography at the best wedding venues in Wiltshire.
Whether you choose to get married in the historically rich cathedral city of Salisbury, or at one of the many beautiful National Trust and English Heritage properties, or at one of the many Country House Estate with fantastic countryside and river views or in an upmarket boutique hotel in one of Wiltshire’s pretty riverside market towns. There really is something for everybody when it comes to weddings in Wiltshire.
Creative and natural wedding photography in Wiltshire
Then there’s Longleat with its famous safari park or the incredibly photogenic world-famous gardens at Stourhead. Wiltshire is scattered with pretty ‘chocolate box style’ villages like Sherston, Avesbury and Lacock to name just a few. Many of them with pretty canal and riverside locations that are dotted with fishers and canal boat enthusiasts.
With such a stunning rural backdrop it’s no wonder that Wiltshire has always drawn outdoorsy types looking for fantastic locations for walking, cycling, horse-riding and fishing. It’s idyllic rural setting and vibrant city make Wiltshire a popular county for festival organisers with celebrations of arts, music, literature and food.
One of the many things I love about being a Wiltshire wedding photographer is that it is beautiful all year round. Spring blooms, summer’s hazy light, autumn’s explosion of colours and winters moody skies can all be used to create beautiful, romantic and timeless images. Wiltshire is a county for all seasons meaning that your wedding really can’t be spoilt by the weather.
Salisbury Wedding Photography
If you want a more urban and chic venue for your wedding then the cathedral city of Salisbury has stunning architecture and a riverside location that is adorned with boutiques, restaurants, cafes, markets and theatres. It is small enough to explore by foot and has lots of green spaces which means it manages to have all the vibrancy of a city but with a relaxed vibe that you only find in the South West of England. With all this on offer why wouldn’t your guests make a weekend of it.
When I shoot wedding photography in Salisbury, I love taking my couples around the city centre to grab images of them in front of Salisbury’s famous landmarks like the cathedral, Grade II listed Arundells Museum, The 13th-century High Street Gate, The Poultry Cross and The Guildhall. They stand as proud testament to Salisbury’s rich history and make the perfect backdrop in all of my images.
Wiltshire also has several characterful and architecturally rich market towns like vibrant Chippenham that has fantastic architecture, Trowbridge which sits on the river Biss, and Malmesbury with its rich medieval history. All have fantastic wedding venues.
Unobtrusive and beautiful Wiltshire wedding photography
For the romantics among you, Wiltshire is one of the best places in England for star gazing. One of the things I love best about shooting wedding photography in Wiltshire are taking sunset and after dark images with star lit skies. They always provide me with the most beautiful closing image when capturing my clients wedding days.
Wiltshire has some of the most amazing wedding venues the UK has to offer and are perfect for couples planning their big day! is also home to plenty of amazing wedding venues specialising in elegant Wiltshire Wedding photography. My favourite venues include Syrencot, Grittleton House, The Pear Tree, Larmer Tree Gardens and The Manor House. Wiltshire also has a number of barn wedding venues which are fast becoming popular with couples, I would recommend taking a look at Winkworth Farm and Casterley Barn which are both fantastic venues to celebrate your big day at!
