5 reasons why I love shooting Salisbury wedding photography
It won’t surprise you to learn that a Wiltshire boy who grew up to be a Wiltshire wedding photographer loves the cathedral city of Salisbury. There are so many reasons why I love shooting Salisbury wedding photography, but to save me from prattling on too long, I’m going to limit myself to my top five. Here they are:
Table of Contents
Rich history and architecture
The medieval cathedral is home to the world-famous magna carta, the Grade II listed Arundells Museum, the 13th century High Street Gate, The Poultry Cross and The Guildhall. They all stand as proud testament to Salisbury’s rich and mystical history and make the perfect backdrop in all of my images.
Few cities are small enough to explore by foot. This means that when I shoot wedding photography in Salisbury there’s always times to take some gorgeous portrait images at some of the cities most iconic landmarks. Salisbury’s compact size makes it perfect for guests too as they can walk to everything they could possibly want or need.
Salisbury has a really chic feel. Its riverside location is adorned with boutiques, restaurants, cafes, markets, bars, art exhibitions, street artists and theatres. It manages to have all the vibrancy of a city but with a relaxed vibe that you only find in the South West of England. With all this on offer why wouldn’t your wedding guests want to make a weekend of it.
Despite being a city, it has lots of green spaces. Salisbury’s beautiful meadows, nature reserves, parks and green spaces give Salisbury a ‘chilled out’ feel even when it’s busy and give me natural and pretty backdrops in my images.
Stunning Wedding Venues
Salisbury has some stunning wedding venues. The fabulous Syrencot, The Manor Estate, Old Wardour Castle, Larmer Tree Gardens, The Guildhall, The Medieval Hall, The Legacy Rose and Crown Hotel and The Red Lion Hotel to name just a few. They are all experienced in planning and hosting beautiful weddings that are always a joy to photograph.
