Tracy and Miles Wedding at Millbridge Court Wedding Venue, Surrey

I always love returning to be a Millbridge Court wedding photographer.  Tracy and Miles’ chose the perfect venue for their Spring wedding in Surrey.

I first met Tracy and Miles when I captured their friend’s wedding the previous year so it was lovely to catch up with everybody again.  I get a lot of my bookings in this way which is lovely as it’s like seeing old friends again.

As Tracy and Miles were both getting ready at Millbridge Court, I got there early to capture those all-important preparation images.  First, I got some great images of the venue all dressed ready for the day’s celebrations.

Located in Frensham, a pretty village on the Surrey-Hampshire border, Millbridge Court is a restored 19th century house that has been transformed into a purpose-built wedding venue in the style of a traditional barn.  It combines traditional architecture with a modern elegant and stylish interior.

Its two halls, the ceremony hall and the dining hall, both have traditional oak beams on their vaulted ceiling and full-length windows that throw tons of natural light into the space.   Us Surrey wedding photographers can never get too much natural light! It was an overcast but clear day and I found Tracy in the Millbridge Court’s Loft.  This state-of-the-art bridal preparation area has five (yes count them five!) make up stations and a luxurious bathroom.  It was the perfect space for Tracy and her bridal party to get ready.  The bridal party consisted of an army of bridesmaids and a very handsome young page boy and Tracy’s lovely mum.  The girls were in high spirits and there was a little medicinal bubbly on hand.  Tracy was in the capable hands of make-up artist Tania Claire and hairstylist Joanne from Joanne Mobile Hairstylist and the bridesmaids hair stylist on the day was Lolo bridal

I also caught up with Miles who was getting ready in the Hideaway.  The Hidaway is a gorgeous luxury cabin located in a secret garden at Millbridge Court.  He was with his brothers and best men for the day Adam and Oliver.  Once ready they greeted the rest of the groom’s party and enjoyed a cheeky dram before heading for the house for the ceremony.

I then headed back to Tracy who by now was almost ready.  She looked amazing in a gorgeous satin off the shoulder dress with a beautiful a line skirt that gave her a fairy-tale silhouette.  It was complemented by a pretty full-length veil at the back.  It was a stunning dress that looked like it had been made just for her.  Tracy bought it from Wed2b

Bridesmaids wore elegant lilac dresses.  The flowers on the day were beautiful and the clever creation of Florescence freelance floristry.  I especially loved Tracy’s bouquet that had wild flowers with pops of lilac and purple.  It also had small photographs of loved ones lost attached.  It’s always lovely to loved ones lost thoughtfully included in the little touches at weddings.

Before leaving I got some great images of the bridal party, before heading down to see the guests who were now excitedly gathering in the house ready for the ceremony.

I must mention Miles and his grooms party who all looked very smart in faint tweed blue three-piece suits from Lequest menswear in Weybridge.

Storytelling Millbridge Court wedding photography

The ceremony was held in the Ceremony Hall and Tracy was walked down the aisle by her mum.  After a wonderfully personal ceremony with some lovely readings everybody headed outside for a fun confetti moment under the garden’s wooden arbour.  It made for a great image.  Here, take a look!

Guests then headed back to the house to enjoy a drinks and canapes reception and I took my chance to get some great images of the wedding party in the pretty courtyard and some candid images of guests happily mingling and enjoying refreshments.  With guests entertained, I quickly whisked Tracy and Miles away for a few minutes for a mini photoshoot of them around the gardens and grounds of Millbridge Court.  I got some really romantic portrait images of them.  Here, take a look!

By this time, guests had been seated in the reception hall and Tracy and Miles were welcomed rapturously by everybody.  Speeches were before the food which is always a good idea and were wonderful.  As a busy Surrey wedding photographer, I have heard hundreds of speeches at weddings and can confirm that the speeches at Tracy and Miles wedding were amongst the best I’ve heard.  Speech givers were by dad Andy and best men Adam and Oliver.

Now I must mention the food.  The wedding team at Millbridge Court collaborate with caterers Kalm Kitchen to create bespoke wedding menus.  The food at Tracy and Miles’ wedding was exceptional.

Evening celebrations started with the cutting of the cake.  Well, one of the cakes.  There were two wedding cakes, some gorgeous cupcakes as well as a small vegan and gluten free cake.  Tracy and Miles covered all bases with their cakes thanks to the clever people at Lola’s Cupcakes.

Tracy and Miles then had a romantic first dance to live musical accompaniment from the wedding band Rockit who with their mix of rock and indie classics made sure the dancefloor remained full all night.  Tracy and Miles’ guests didn’t hold back and I took to the dancefloor to get some great images.

With the party in full swing, it was time for me to take my leave.  But before doing so I quickly whisked Tracy and Miles outside for some last images of them.  The image of the two of them embraced, under the lit courtyard with their loved ones partying inside, seemed the perfect image to close the story of their amazing wedding day.

I loved capturing Tracy and Miles fun wedding at Millbridge Court.  I’ll leave the last words to them.  Here’s what Tracy and Miles had to say about me.

From our first contact with Alex, he showed such enthusiasm and excitement for our wedding, especially as he had not shot at our venue before, it made our wedding feel special to him as well as to us.

He was great at communicating and catching up with us regularly and was very responsive to any questions or queries we had. We chose to go with Alex due to how he documents the day, his photos are very natural and not photoshopped.

We are not very natural at having our photo taken and Alex softly guided us through the day without forcing us into uncomfortable positions/poses or situations.

During the day Alex skilfully blended into the background and we had many compliments as to how unobtrusive he was, but still managed to capture so many special moments with some amusing photos. We ended up with even more photos that we could have wished for, capturing everyone’s smiles and emotions as the day unfolded.

Very happy with our photos and would happily recommend to anyone looking for a more relaxed documentary style of photographer who is a genuine and nice guy!”
