LGBT Wedding at Pembroke Lodge

A gorgeous LGBT Wedding at Pembroke Lodge

Greg and Richards Wedding at Pembroke Lodge

The sun shone all day for Greg and Richards summer wedding at Pembroke Lodge.  Pembroke Lodge is a stunning Grade II listed Georgian Mansion that sits in 11 acres of landscaped gardens and grounds within Royal Richmond Park.   It has spectacular views across the Thames Valley, Windsor and Surrey.  It really is a fantastic London wedding venue so it’s always a pleasure to return to be a Pembroke Lodge wedding photographer.

On the day I got there a little early so I could take some images of the venue all dressed and ready to go.  Greg and Richard arrived together in style in a smart black range rover and both looked resplendent in their suits from Cad & The Dandy Saville Row.  I was more than a little jealous, who doesn’t want a custom-made suit from Saville Row!

I took the chance to discretely get some images of them greeting their guests, who happily mingled and drank on Pembroke Lodge’s pretty courtyard.

The ceremony was held in The Belvedere.  It is a beautifully light space with neutral tones that allowed Greg and Richard to dress the room in their own way.  After a gorgeous ceremony there was a fun confetti moment which I captured.  It was my favourite image of the day.  Here take a look!

Greg, Richard and their guests then enjoyed a drinks and canapes reception on The Belvedere’s courtyard which was perfect for me because one of the things I love best about shooting wedding photography at Pembroke Lodge is the courtyard.  It has the most beautiful views of the gardens and the park beyond that always make the perfect backdrop in my images.  Entertainment was provided by a 5-piece brass band.

As everybody relaxed, I took my chance to get some gorgeous unposed images of Greg and Richard’s guests along with some more formal images of the wedding party.  I also quickly whisked Greg and Richard away to get some portrait images of them around the pretty gardens and grounds of Pembroke Lodge.  They were so easy going and fun to work with that it was my favourite part of the day.  And I got some great images.  Here take a look!

The wedding reception was held back in The Belvedere that had been dressed beautifully.  I must mention the flowers they were stunning and were the clever creation of the team at Bramble and Moss.   Speeches were funny, emotional, heartfelt and very well received by everyone.  As was the meal of roast beef followed by an ice cream dessert (these boys went for crowd pleasers!)

After the meal guests spilled back out onto the terrace to enjoy the late afternoon sunshine and some enjoyed a game of giant jenga.

Evening celebrations kick started with the cutting of the cutest wedding cake.  I loved it!  Followed by a romantic first dance.  Greg and Richard weren’t alone on the dancefloor for long.  Their guests were really up for a party.  It wasn’t long before we saw some serious shape cutting on the dancefloor and I  took my life into my own hands capturing it.

Before taking my leave, I wanted to grab a quick after dark shot of Greg and Richard so whisked them outside and took a gorgeous portrait image of them.  It seemed the perfect image to close the story of their lovely wedding day.

An elegant and fun wedding for this fantastic pair.  Congratulations to Greg and Richard for getting married.  I really enjoyed shooting your wedding day.  I hope my images will allow to relive it again and again for many years to come.

I’ll leave the last word to Greg and Richard, here’s what they said about working with me.

‘Alex captured our wedding in Richmond Park in July 2019. He was very easy to get on with for both us and our guests. We both received many positive comments from guests about how he was really able to blend into the background throughout the day. During our photo shoot he was able to put both of us at ease, to get some fabulous images. Alex provides a really professional level of service from the initial meeting all the way to delivery of the exceptional quality album. We can’t thank Alex enough for helping us to create wonderful memories.’
