Sarah and Tom Wedding at Brickwall House, Sussex

Sarah and Tom got married in summer at the awesome Brickwall House, which is a stunning venue in Northiam, East Sussex. It was a beautiful day and the sun shone all day long!

Bridal Prep

Sarah got ready at Flackley Ash Hotel with her Bridesmaids and Mum, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. Sarah’s room looked out into the gardens of the hotel which was a lovely backdrop for photos and I made sure I captured some lovely natural photos in these surroundings. Sarah had chosen a beautiful pink dress as her wedding gown which was a lovely change to the traditional white. Her bridesmaids equally looked fantastic in flowery dresses which really suited the theme of the day. After Sarah got into her dress I captured a few classic bridal portraits before making my way to Brickwall House.

The Ceremony

Brickwall House is a stunning Grade 1 listed country house set amongst some beautiful gardens deep in rural Sussex and is one of the most historic venues I have had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at. I felt quite a connection with the venue as I grew up literally a mile from the venue so it felt like I was coming home. After capturing some quick shots of the venue, I made my way inside where I was met by Tom and his groomsmen which was a perfect opportunity to get some Groom portraits and photos of guests arriving.

Sarah and Tom had chosen to have their ceremony on one of the venues laws next to the topiary garden. I always love an outdoor ceremony as it gives me the freedom to capture so many angles and really gets my creative eye working to capture truly unique photos! Brickwall House is quite a unique venue only having weddings during the summer months so it certainly has that exclusivity factor getting married at such a wonderful location!

Sarah with a big beaming smile was walked down the aisle by both her Mum and Dad which was lovely to see! During the ceremony, they had several beautiful readings from friends and family. It was such a personal service together with some lovely singing before the newly married couple danced back down the aisle.

The Reception

The reception was out in the topiary garden at the venue. Whilst the guests enjoyed some canapes and drinks being entertained by some live music, I stole the bride and groom for a few minutes to get some couples photos in the historic grounds. Sarah and Tom were quite the quirky couple which really shows in the fun natural photos I captured during their shoot.

The rest of the day the couple used the on-site marquee which was wonderfully decorated. When Sarah and Tom entered the marquee there was an eruption of clapping and cheers before the couple cut their amazing wedding cake. For dinner, they had a delicious paella which was all cooked outside by the talented caterers. Following the meal, there were lots of entertaining speeches which were great to capture.

The Party

The first dance was a fun energetic dance with lots of twirling with Sarah and Tom’s guests encircling them before joining them both on the dance floor.

Sarah and Tom’s wedding had such a fun atmosphere and was totally epic.
