A Summer wedding at Horsley Towers
A Surrey Wedding
Dilek and Kieran’s wedding at Horsley Towers
De Vere Horsley Towers is a stunning wedding venue set in beautiful Surrey parkland. This 19th century historically rich manor house is brimming with character and a real favourite with Surrey wedding photographers because it offers so many beautiful backdrops for amazing wedding photos. Dilek and Kieran chose the perfect venue.

Photographs of Dilek and Kieran’s wedding day
On the day, I got there early and caught up with Dilek, who was getting ready in the De Vere Suite. This luxurious and spacious bridal suite is the perfect place for the bridal party to get ready and for me to capture those all-important bridal preparation images. Dilek looked simply stunning in a figure skimming dress that really suited her slender frame and with a natural train at the back it gave her an exquisite silhouette in all of my images of her. Dilek’s bridesmaid wore an elegant pink dress.
I also got the chance to catch up with Kieran and his grooms party who were getting ready in another room. They all looked very smart in petrol blue suits with a light blue tie and brown brogue shoes.
A wonderfully personal ceremony in the Great Hall
Dilek is from Turkey and Kieran from Ireland and due to Covid restrictions their families were unable to be there. This meant that their wedding guests were mostly friends and Dilek’s friend Patrick stepped in to walk her down the aisle. The wedding ceremony was held in Horsley Towers’ Great Hall. The Great Hall has vaulted ceilings, oak-panelled walls and a large feature fireplace that make it a fantastic space for an atmospheric wedding ceremony.
It was a wonderfully personal wedding ceremony with groomsman Leigh playing the piano and Steve the celebrant and toastmaster leading proceedings. After the ceremony there was a fun confetti moment outside before everybody enjoyed a drinks reception and I took some great group photos. I especially liked the ones taken on the steps to the historic tower.
Whilst guests happily mingled and explored the venue, I quickly whisked Dilek and Kieran away for a romantic mini photoshoot. One of the many things I love about shooting wedding photography at Horsley Towers are the cloisters and chapel. They provide the most perfect backdrop in wedding photos.
Storytelling wedding photography at Horsley Towers
The wedding reception was held in Horsley Towers’ majestic Sopwith Suite. This elegant room has beautiful period features and is the perfect space for a wedding celebration. Toastmaster and celebrant Steve headed up the proceedings and saw that Dilek and Kieran were welcomed with rapturous applause from their guests. Some very emotional speeches were then given, especially Kieran’s as he read some of his speech in Turkish which is Dilek’s first language, a moment that left most of the room in tears. This was followed by tears of laughter at the groomsman’s speech.
Next Dilek, Kieran and their guests all enjoyed a sumptuous wedding breakfast created by the talented in-house team of chefs at Horsley Towers. I must mention the cake, it looked amazing and was the clever creation of Nia Cummings. Before the evening celebrations started, I quickly whisked Dilek and Kieran outside to get some gorgeous sunset images of them around the grounds of Horsley Towers. I got some amazing images that were amongst my favourites of the day.
Creative and natural Surrey wedding photography
We then headed back inside to get the evening celebrations underway. They started with the cutting of that gorgeous cake, followed by a fun throwing of the bouquet before Dilek and Kieran did their first dance, and it was clear that these two are no strangers to the dancefloor. And with wedding singer and friend Paul performing live, the dancefloor remained full all evening.
Before taking my leave, I whisked Dilek and Kieran outside for one last image. It was dark, and raining, but I had an idea of how I wanted the last images to look and it paid off. The image of Dilek and Kieran in silhouette in front of Horsley Towers looked perfect. And the image of the two of them kissing under the umbrella in the rain was the perfect image to close the story of their magical wedding day.
A wonderfully fun and stylish wedding for this lovely pair. Congratulations to Dilek and Kieran for getting married and thank you for allowing me to tell the story of it. I loved it!
