Lucy and Edward’s wedding at Cain Manor

When it comes to capturing beautiful Hampshire wedding photography there are some stunning venues.  Though returning to be a Cain Manor wedding photographer is always a treat.  But I’ll get back to all the reasons why I love shooting wedding photography at Cain Manor in a minute.  Let’s start at the beginning of Lucy and Edward’s day.

On the morning I headed to Lucy’s parents house in Bisley, where she was getting ready with her bridal party.  Lucy was in good spirits and safe hands with her girls party around her.  These guys were really fun, I loved the co-ordinated robes ladies.  And there was some medicinal bubbly on hand to calm any last-minute nerves.   I love a fun bridal party as it really sets the tone for a fun wedding day.

Lucy looked amazing in her dress that had a sweetheart neckline and a dreamy a line shape skirt that gave her a fairytale bride look.  Bridesmaids wore elegant lavender dresses and young Edie made a very cute flower girl.  I got some fantastic images of Lucy, her bridal party and her parents before we left for the ceremony.

The wedding ceremony was held at nearby St Johns the Baptists Church in Bisley with Lucy arriving in style in a vintage Rolls Royce.   I got there early and caught up with Edward and got some great images of him and his grooms party outside the church.  They all looked very smart in tails suits with pink ties.  St John’s The Baptist Church is a pretty Grade II listed church in the Surrey village of Bisley and is just perfect for a traditional wedding ceremony.

Afterwards, there was a chance to capture some lovely images of the wedding party by the church’s ancient porch before guests lined the pretty walk way to the church to congratulate Lucy and Edward as they left for their reception at Cain Manor.

Great, now I get to talk more about why I always love returning to shoot wedding photography at Cain Manor.  This gorgeous barn style country house wedding venue sits in pretty woodland on the Surrey and Hampshire borders.  Oozing with rustic charm and quirky character its beautiful period details of old oak floors and wooden beams are perfectly blended with every modern luxury you would expect from a premier wedding venue.

Award winning wedding photography at Cain Manor

On arrival Lucy, Edward and their guests made the most of the sunshine by enjoying a drinks reception in Cain Manor’s gorgeous courtyard and gardens and as guests happily mingled, played giant jenga and chess I took my chance to whisk Lucy and Edward away for a for minutes for a mini portrait session around the beautiful gardens, grounds and interiors of Cain Manor.  And I captured some of my favourite images of the day.  Here, take a look!

The wedding reception started with some fantastically well received speeches from Lucy’s dad Mike, Edward and best man/Ed’s brother Rob.  After a delicious wedding breakfast many of Lucy and Edward’s guests spilled back outside to enjoy the last of the days sunshine and I took Lucy and Edward for another mini portrait photoshoot of them making the most of the low sunshine to create really romantic images of them.

Evening celebrations started with an Intimate first dance but Lucy and Edward weren’t alone on the dancefloor for long.  Their guests were up for a party and it wasn’t long before they were bringing their best moves!

Storytelling Cain Manor wedding photographer

After the sun went down, I quickly whisked Lucy and Edward outside to get a twilight shot in the garden veranda.  It was worth the effort as it gave me my favourite image of the day and the perfect image to close the story of Lucy and Edward’s wedding.

I loved capturing Lucy and Edward’s day.  A fun and laid-back wedding full of love and laughter.  I’ll leave the last words to them.  Here’s what they had to say about working with me.

“Alex did an amazing job capturing our special day. The whole booking process was easy and smooth and Alex was very flexible and accommodating when we had to move our date due to COVID. On the day he was fantastic he did a great job capturing the day from the candid moments to the more formal ‘family shots. He kept us well informed on the timeline of the photos and captured everything we wanted without us having to take too much time away from our guests. Family and friends have commented to me after that they though Alex was very friendly and professional and loved the photos. Overall, the photos were stunning and both Ed and I are very happy, we cannot recommend Alex enough. At the end of the day a wedding is a day but the photos last forever and we love ours!”
