A Long-Awaited Celebration

Two years ago, I had the privilege of photographing Claire and James’ intimate lockdown wedding, one of only two I captured in 2020. Fast forward to now, and it was time for the big celebration they’d been waiting for, with all their family and friends gathered at the stunning Syrencot. After the arrival of their adorable baby Kit, this day felt even more special—a true celebration of love, resilience, and togetherness.

A Winter Wedding at Syrencot

From start to finish, the entire day unfolded at Syrencot, a breathtaking Wiltshire wedding venue that offers the perfect blend of charm and elegance. The day began with Claire and James getting ready in Syrencot’s luxurious spaces. James looked every bit the part in his Full No. 1 military dress, adding a layer of regal sophistication to the day.

The ceremony was intimate and emotional, with the couple exchanging vows surrounded by the warm glow of family and friends. Despite the winter gloom, Syrencot’s beautiful interiors and grounds provided endless inspiration for stunning, emotional, and storytelling wedding photography.

Fun Group Shots and Heartfelt Speeches

Post-ceremony, the fun really began. Claire and James’ friends and family were an absolute joy to capture, with laughter and smiles filling every corner of the venue. The group shots were lively and full of personality—exactly the kind of moments that make storytelling photography so special.

The speeches were another standout moment, blending humour and heartfelt emotion. Whether it was the best man’s hilarious anecdotes or the father of the bride’s touching words, the room was alive with energy, making it a joy to document these memories.

Creative Couples Portraits

Winter weddings come with their own challenges, but they also present unique opportunities for creativity—and Claire and James’ day was no exception. Indoors, I made use of Syrencot’s circular lights, creating some dramatic and intimate couples portraits that truly showcased their connection.

As night fell, the rain gave us the perfect backdrop for one of my favourite shots of the day. Standing in front of the glasshouse, illuminated by soft lighting, Claire and James embraced as the rain fell around them. It was a magical, cinematic moment—one that perfectly capped off their incredible day.
