A Wedding Day At Kings Chapel Old Amersham
Catherine and Jamie’s wedding at Kings Chapel in Old Amersham was one of those days that just felt easy from the start. Good people, good energy, and a venue that gives you loads to work with without needing to try too hard.
I’ve photographed here before, and it’s one of those places that always delivers. The mix of the chapel itself and the surrounding streets means you can keep things moving without ever feeling stuck in one spot..

Morning Preparations
The morning just eased into things. People arriving, getting ready, a bit of everything going on, but nothing felt rushed.
There was a nice flow to it. Conversations overlapping, music in the background, people popping in and out of rooms. By the time everyone made their way into Kings Chapel, it already felt like the day had properly started.
The Ceremony At Kings Chapel
The ceremony took place inside Kings Chapel, and it’s a great space for it. Everything feels close enough that you don’t miss anything, and the light works really well throughout.
Catherine and Jamie kept it simple, which suited the space. There were smiles straight away, a couple of emotional moments that just happened naturally, and nothing felt forced.
As soon as they came back down the aisle, you could feel the shift. Everyone relaxed, and the day opened up from there.
Reception outside the Chapel
One of the best things about a wedding at Kings Chapel is stepping straight out into Old Amersham. The streets, the buildings, and the little pockets of space all add something different.
We made the most of that straight after the ceremony. Guests gathered outside, conversations picked up again, and it gave us a chance to capture some really natural moments without needing to overthink anything.
The spring flowers were just starting to come through as well, which added a bit of colour without taking over. It all felt very easy to work with.
Couple Portraits Around Old Amersham
We took some time for portraits around Kings Chapel and the nearby streets, just moving between a few spots as we went.
Nothing complicated. Just walking, stopping when something looked right, and letting it happen.
Catherine and Jamie were really easy to photograph. No overthinking it, no stiffness, just comfortable together, which always makes the biggest difference.

Speeches And Reception
Once everyone sat down, things slowed a bit, in a good way.
The speeches were really strong. Properly funny in places, a few moments that caught people off guard, and a room that stayed engaged the whole time. You could tell there was a lot of history there between everyone.
It’s always one of the best parts of the day to capture when it’s like that.
The Evening
The evening didn’t take long to get going.
The dance floor filled quickly and stayed that way. No slow build, just straight into it. The kind of crowd that doesn’t need much encouragement.
It carried on like that for the rest of the night, which pretty much summed the whole day up.
Final Thoughts
Catherine and Jamie’s wedding at Kings Chapel Old Amersham just worked. Nothing overcomplicated, nothing forced, just a really good day with the right people in the right place.
Kings Chapel is one of those venues that makes things easy. Plenty of character, plenty of space, and everything close enough that the day flows without needing to think about it too much.
