Kew Gardens Engagement shoot

Fiona and Ben’s engagement shoot at Kew Gardens

Fiona and Ben weren’t sure where they wanted to enjoy their London engagement photoshoot so I suggested Kew Gardens as its utterly stunning, photogenic and easy to get to.  As a busy London engagement photographer, I have captured engagement photography at Kew Gardens before so I’m familiar with the best locations.

Kew’s Royal botanical gardens are a UNESCO world heritage site with over 50,000 plants in their collection.  Giving us London engagement photographers 360 degrees of breathtakingly stunning garden backdrops.  Whether it’s in the Japanese Gardens, the Grecian Temples, the Tropical Rainforests or the English Country Garden.  Kew Gardens engagement photography is always a joy to capture.

I met up with Fiona and Ben on an intermittently sunny and overcast day in August and we started with me taking some lovely images of them on The Sackler Crossing, a walkway bridge that follows the curve of Kew’s beautiful and serene lake.

We then headed to The Arboretum to take a few fun images of Fiona and Ben on a stretch of grass near the trees before heading to the lakeside for some lovely romantic shots.

I always opt for a natural unposed look of a couple just out for a walk enjoying one another’s company.  Fiona and Ben were laid back and fun to work with allowing me to capture natural images of them looking their absolute best.  The result were gorgeous images that I know they are thrilled with.

We then took a casual stroll and found some gorgeous flowers with a vibrant pink bloom and I took some images of Fiona and Ben in amongst them.  They turned out to be my favourite images of the day.  Here, take a look!

Natural engagement photography in Kew Gardens

Engagement photography is increasing in popularity.  Some couples choose to have an engagement shoot as they often say that they feel uncomfortable being photographed or that they never like pictures of themselves.  An engagement shoot is an opportunity to fix all of these worries.  So that it won’t be an issue on their wedding day.  It’s a chance for them to get used to me photographing them and if they need it, I can give them tips to help them to be more comfortable in front of the camera.

Fiona and Ben were really easy going and fun to work with and we had a lot of laughs during their engagement photoshoot.  We continued our stroll and I got some lovely images of them by the world-famous glass structure Temperature House and by Kew’s striking Chinese Pagoda.

Many of my previous engagement shoot couples go on to use the images in their wedding stationery for invitations, guest books and thank you cards.

Creative Kew Gardens engagement photography

I really enjoyed meeting up with Fiona and Ben and capturing their engagement photoshoot at Kew Gardens.  I’ll be photographing their up-and-coming wedding at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.  I think I’m looking forward to it nearly as much as they are!
