I’m so lucky to be a Dorset engagement photographer as there are so many amazing locations for engagement photography in Dorset.  Laura and Matt chose Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door for their engagement shoot location and it was perfect.  Every image gave me the magnificent backdrop of the beautiful Jurassic coast.

Engagement photography is increasing in popularity.  Some couples choose to have an engagement shoot as they often say that they feel uncomfortable being photographed or that they never like pictures of themselves.  An engagement shoot is an opportunity to fix all of these worries.  So that it won’t be an issue on their wedding day.  It’s a chance for them to get used to me photographing them and if they need it, I can give them tips to help them to be more comfortable in front of the camera. 

I met up with Laura and Matt in the early evening on a really sunny day in June.  Perfect conditions for a Durdle Door engagement shoot as the light was at its lowest and haziest allowing me to play with it to create really romantic images.  (Us Dorset engagement photographers are total geeks when it comes to banging on about light!)

Natural engagement photography in Dorset

I always opt for a natural unposed look of a couple just out for a walk enjoying one another’s company.  Laura and Matt were laid back and fun to work with allowing me to capture natural images of them looking their absolute best.  The result were gorgeous images that I know they are thrilled with.

My favourite image of their Durdle Door engagement shoot, was the last one image I took on the beach.  I loved the colours created by the shingle beach, turquoise of the sea and the sky as the sun was setting.  Amazing!  – here, take a look!

Many of my previous engagement shoot couples go on to use the images in their wedding stationery for invitations, guest books and thank you cards.
