Pembroke Lodge is the only licensed wedding venue within a London Royal Park. A unique Grade II listed Georgian Mansion it is situated in the highest point of Richmond Park, affording it spectacular views over the Thames Valley, Windsor and Surrey. A beautiful house, in beautiful gardens, sitting in a Royal London Park. It really is no wonder that Pembroke Lodge is frequently named as one of London’s best wedding venues by wedding forums and magazines.
11 acres of beautifully landscaped and photogenic grounds make shooting wedding photography at Pembroke Lodge a dream booking for any London wedding photographer. As we are spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful backdrops for our wedding photographs, whether outside in the perfectly tended gardens and grounds or inside the Lodge, with its sumptuous interiors and original period features.

So is ideal if you’re looking for a wedding venue that makes an instant impact on your guests as soon as they get their first glimpse of it. It has two separate banqueting suites. The Belvedere and The Russell.

What are the ceremony options at Pembroke Lodge?
Pembroke Lodge have 2 fantastic options for celebrating your wedding day with both the intimate Russell Suite for smaller wedding celebrations or for larger weddings the fantastic Belvedere Suite!
The Russell Suite is recommended for up to 70 guests for a wedding ceremony through to 100 guests for an evening reception so is ideal for small to medium sized weddings. Situated on the first floor of the Georgian Wing the suite includes many period features such as a feature fireplace, chandeliered ceilings, large mirrors and original artworks. Its large windows and light interiors flood the space with tons of natural light. Us London wedding photographers love any additional light, that we can play with to create even more beautiful images.
You can choose to have your wedding ceremony in The Russell Suite itself or outside in its own private Woodland Garden. In good weather reception drinks take place on the South lawn, in poor weather the Bertrand Russell Suite is made available. The Russell Suite’s neutral palette and wooden floors create a blank canvas for you to add your personality according to the style of your wedding. The Russell Room has a license till 11pm.
The Belvedere Suite is Pembroke Lodge’s purpose-built wedding venue situated on the ground floor. It’s an impressive space with a private terrace that offers spectacular views over the Thames Valley. It can accommodate up to 140 guests for a wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast and up to 200 guests for an evening reception. So, if you’re looking to end your wedding day with an epic wedding party then this could be ideal for you. You can choose to have your wedding ceremony in The Belvedere or in good weather outside. Drinks receptions are usually held on the private terrace though the Soane Rooms are made available when the weather is poor. The Belvedere Room has a license to serve drinks until midnight.
The experienced team at Pembroke Lodge have been hosting weddings for over 50 years, and pride themselves on offering a truly complete service with three full time wedding administrators to assist with all aspects of planning the perfect day. The team at Pembroke Lodge also employ three Banqueting Manager who are on hand on the day from start to finish, acting as Master of Ceremonies and making sure weddings run smoothly. This hands-on approach to wedding planning allows couples to enjoy the wedding planning process and relax on the day knowing that their wedding is in safe and experienced hands.
What are the reception options at Pembroke Lodge?
Another detail I love about weddings at Pembroke Lodge is that every wedding results in a donation to Richmond Park, with 10p of every £1.00 spent at the lodge going into maintaining the park for future generations to enjoy. What a lovely gesture to start your married life.
The chefs at Pembroke Lodge work with you to create the perfect wedding menu, using fresh locally sourced products. This service includes a free taster session when you book your wedding at Pembroke Lodge. A bind I know, but it’s got to be done!
When I shoot wedding photography at Pembroke Lodge, I love whisking my couples away for a few minutes for a mini photoshoot, I choose a time when guests are happily mingling and soaking up their surroundings. We pop into tranquil Richmond Park, and sometimes catch a glimpse of one of the 650 deer that live there. I always ensure I get an image of my couples at King Henry’s mound. It’s the only view in London which is protected by an Act of Parliament, so where better to capture a romantic portrait image of my couples.
One of the many reasons I why I love Pembroke Lodge is that it’s a wedding venue for all seasons. Its location in beautiful Richmond Park and its stunning grounds and gardens mean that in Spring its impressive frontage is covered in beautiful and photogenic wisteria. By summer, I love capturing early evening sunset shots, in Autumn its awash with colour and atmospheric light. In Winter, the low winter sun outside blended with atmospheric lighting indoors, with nods to the Christmas season in the form of fairy lights create a magical ambience perfect for a winter wedding.
