An Indian Wedding at Winstanley House
A Riot of Colour and Culture: Chaya & Vinesh’s Epic Indian Wedding at Winstanley House
Where do I even begin with Chaya and Vinesh’s Indian wedding at Winstanley House? My first ever Indian wedding to capture—and what a phenomenal experience it was. A day bursting with colour, joyful chaos, heartfelt tradition, and one of the most electric dance floors I’ve ever seen. From sunrise to well beyond sunset, this summer wedding was an explosion of life, love, and celebration.

Photographs of Chaya and Vinesh’s wedding day
Bridal Prep to Baraat – The Celebration Begins
The morning kicked off with bridal prep, where the energy was already infectious. Chaya looked absolutely radiant in her traditional bridal wear—every detail from her jewellery to her henna was a work of art. Meanwhile, Vinesh was preparing for one of the most energetic groom entrances I’ve ever witnessed: the Jaan.
The baraat (groom’s arrival) was something else entirely. Drummers, dancing, and a crowd that looked more like a street festival than a wedding arrival. I genuinely didn’t know where to point my camera—there was action in every direction. It was loud, joyful, and totally unforgettable. As a photographer, these are the moments you live for.
A Ceremony Steeped in Tradition
Held at the elegant Winstanley House, the ceremony itself was a beautiful contrast to the wild energy of the Jaan—calm, spiritual, and deeply meaningful. I was in awe of the traditions, the symbolism, and the rich colours that filled the space. From the sacred fire to the tying of the knot, every moment told a story of connection, family, and shared heritage.
As someone capturing an Indian wedding for the first time, it was an honour to witness the community spirit, emotion, and reverence woven into every part of the ceremony. The colours of the clothing, the vibrancy of the décor—it all came together to create a visual feast that made for some truly stunning, emotional, and storytelling wedding photography.
Portraits in the Greenery
After the ceremony, we headed out into the grounds of Winstanley House, where the lush green backdrops were the perfect setting for some relaxed portraits. With Chaya and Vinesh in their bold, traditional attire, the contrast against the greenery made every frame pop. No posing pressure—just genuine moments between two people who clearly adore each other.
A Reception Full of Flavour and Fun
Let’s talk about the food. Hands down, some of the best I’ve had at any wedding. The aromas, the colours, the variety—it was as much a celebration for the senses as it was for the soul.
And the party? Absolutely wild—in the best possible way. The dance floor was packed from the first song to the last, with friends and family bringing serious energy. I lit the space to make sure every spin, jump, and smile could be captured in all its glory. It wasn’t just a reception—it was a proper celebration, and I loved every minute of it.
A Day I Won’t Forget
Chaya and Vinesh, thank you for letting me be a part of your day. It was an absolute joy to capture, and I’m truly grateful to have witnessed such a special celebration. A big shoutout to Mann Hans Photography for second shooting with me—an absolute legend on the day!
